We've all been to a bookstore at one point in our lives. We look through every section and find amazing literature. However, there is one area that no sane mortal dare enter. That area is called "Teen". Now what exactly is teen literature.
In short teen literature are novels directed towards a teen audience. The subject matter of teen books range from shitty romance stories to shitty fiction and sometimes a combination of the two. Example of shitty teen romance novels: the Twilight series. Example of shitty teen fiction: Percy Jackson series. Combination of shitty teen romance and fiction: FUCKING TWILIGHT SERIES! In essence this all that the teen section has...sparkly gay vampire books. Nothing of remote interest basically.
Now the only reason i can come up with for this godawful section existing is to make it easier for Twi-tards to find books that are similar to their favorite shit series. Where are the good books that inspire imagination and thought? Fantasy/Sci-fi section, the REAL fiction section, horror section (some book stores have this) and the history sections. B/c im sure that you can't find any of that in the cock-sucking vampire BS "TEEN" section.
So in essence, the teen area of any bookstore serves no cognative purpose other than to peddle lame, cliched, corporate BS that moronic teenagers will gladly gobble up. Now what is your opinion on this area?

I understand exactly what you mean, the thing is that the more literature inclined teen doesn't have a say in what a teenager wants to read, they'd rather go to their section of choice, whereas the average teen, who doesn't know where to look for a story: aka, the person who only comes to the book store for 2 things: school novels and that cool book her/his friend was reading. Those "cool books" are the ones that get placed in the Teen section.

Book lovers know their book store, so if they want good fantasy, they know where to look; if they want humor, it's by the games. Need manga? On the back wall.

indeed thats basically what it is. they should just move the teen section WAAAAAYYYYY in the back of the store so that they have to make an epic journey to get the waste of ink and paper

Well, in most industrialized cultures, there are two focuses for education: Academics/Arts vs extracurricular/sports, and guess which one's more popular (the one the United States focuses on). That's right, sports. To actually have an educated population, America would have to become rewired, and all school grants/money interest should be placed on new books/technology rather then new cheer leader outfits.

Well first off I'm not the brightest crayon in the box but when I'm interested in something even if I'm not in school I look into it when I'm not feeling lazy and I teach my self. Computer for instance. Sure I took some class but I didn't learn everything I know about them from the class. I was interested and looked up how to fix, fuck up, program, and all the other stuff. I didn't just look it up on the Internet, oh no I also checked out books, talked among friends and family. So I don't think it's the schools or the government or whatever. I think it's the kids/teenagers not working to their full potential. Also see how we are having an intelligent conversation if more people took advantage of things like this then maybe, just maybe they would seem more intelligent.
